VSVS is a service organization composed of undergraduate, graduate, and medical students who are committed to bringing inquiry-based, hands-on science lessons to elementary and middle school students.Our goals are to provide Vanderbilt students with an opportunity to explain science to school children, to help college students recognize their responsibilities for community service and the importance of volunteer service in schools, to provide role models for school children, to stimulate an interest in teaching as a profession, and to help kids develop a passion for science.

At Turnip Green Creative Reuse, we foster sustainability, creativity, and community through reuse by diverting usable materials from our landfill for creative endeavors. Each day, we take in an average of 1,000 pounds of donated, hard-to-recycle materials and redistribute them back to community members through a shopping center, education programming, and studio workshops.

AbleVoices
AbleVoices is a local nonprofit organization that teaches photography to teens and adults with and without disabilities as a means for self-expression, creative and social outlets and work-based learning. This device will assist our photographers in assembling photo greeting cards to sell at local markets, festivals, and retail spaces. It allows for a 4x6 photo to be centered and adhered to a 5x7 folded card without measuring or the need for precise fine motor control . Our goal at AbleVoices is for our photographers to do as much as they can at each step of the process and this card-making tool helps make this possible!

Vanderbilt Aerospace Design Lab
The Vanderbilt Aerospace Design Lab (VADL) is an interdisciplinary Aerospace Engineering Research and Development Laboratory specializing in the design of expert systems and rocket-flyable payloads. VADL provides students with an opportunity to complete a unique end-to-end aerospace project, focused on science and engineering. Every year, VADL competes in NASA's Student Launch competition. The challenge for this year's project is to design a flight capsule capable of retaining four "STEMnauts" and transmitting data via RF to a ground station post-landing.
NetsBlox
NetsBlox is a web- and cloud-based visual programming environment that enables students to create fun and engaging computer programs. NetsBlox provides access to many online services and data sources such as Google Maps, climate data, movie database etc. NetsBlox also enables programs running on separate computers to talk to each other. Hence, students can write multi-player games such as Tic Tac Toe or Battleship and other truly distributed programs such as a chatroom or a shared whiteboard. NetsBlox can access the sensors on one's smartphone and turn it into a remote game controller. Students can also create algorithmic music with NetsBlox.

Leveraging Wearable Technology to Track Posture Degeneration and Visualize the Spine
SpineSync is a provisionally patented smart vest that can automatically track posture degeneration and create visualizations of the user's spinal curvature without an x-ray, helping maintain spine health. Patients need only wear SpineSync for 30 seconds a day in the comfort of their home. SpineSync works by using accelerometers to measure angles at points on the spine, and then combines these angles with algorithms to reconstruct an image of the user's spine.

The Legion is an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate. The Legion seeks to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Star Wars-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work. We make all of our own costumes and props, and will feature displays of kits in progress, as well as our "black series box" which allows participants take post like a life size action figure in the box.
